It's been 6 weeks and I haven't gotten my refund?

Okay, let's investigate!

  1. The IRS may need further information to process your claim.

  • If this is the case, the IRS will send out a letter to the address used to process your return.

          2. The IRS may require further review before releasing your return.

  • If this is the case, neither you nor your tax preparer needs to do anything; your refund will continue to process until the IRS is satisfied that all information has been reported accurately on your behalf.
  • The further review can take anywhere to 60 days to nine months.

          3. Is further review for processing normal?

  • Yes, it is widespread. The IRS needs to ensure that all information they receive is accurate and truthful. These measurements have been put into place to stop fraud and identity theft down.
  • The IRS sometimes needs to take additional steps in some cases to ensure a person(s) tax return has been reported accurately and that the individual(s) filing the return is aware of what is being reported on their behalf.
  • Other times you may be required to call the IRS and go through what is known as IDENTITY VERIFICATION PROCESS.

I closed the account where my deposit is going

If you have closed your account before your refund has been deposited, one of two things may happen. The bank will send your refund back to the IRS, who will then mail you out a check to the address used to process or your return.
The second situation that may occur is that your refund will get sent to the tax preparation office. When this happens, either Tasha or her staff will contact you to inform you that you have a check at our location and make arrangements for you to pick it up.

I called about my refund and it states my check has been sent out

No Problem, if a check has been sent to Tasha's location either she or her staff will let you know and make the necessary arrangements for you to pick up your refund.

No refunds of any kind are ever deposited into the companies account.
